Growth Group Guide

  1. Describe your perfect house.
  2. Read Haggai 2:1-9. How does the Lord describe this temple in v. 3? Why, then, should the people “be strong” (v. 4)?
  3. Describe a “spiritual high” you experienced. How is it tempting to dwell on that experience and ignore God’s presence today?
  4. In vv. 4-5, how does God’s present presence with his people change things — for those in Haggai’s day and today?
  5. In vv. 7-9, how does the Lord ultimately draw near and bring glory into the temple? (See Matthew 12:6 and John 1:14; 2:19-21)
  6. How does Jesus Christ bring the peace mentioned in v. 9? (See Colossians 1:19-20)
  7. Read 1 Corinthians 3:16. Where (who) is God’s temple now?
  8. Do you love our church?
  9. As a church, how can we be a blessing to those inside and outside our church?
