Short-term Mission Trip (STM) with Shepherd Community Center

Trip Information

  • Sunday, July 5 to Friday, July 10
  • In partnership with Shepherd Community Center, we will learn about poverty, serve the community, and care for students (grades 1 to 6).

Approximate Daily Schedule

  • 8:00 am - Breakfast with students
  • 8:30 am - Poverty 101 - Learn about poverty
  • 10:00 am - Summer Excel (lunch with classes)
  • 3:00 pm - Lead aftercare in activities
  • 5:00 pm - Students leave
  • Evening - Various activities

Details

  • There will be at least one male and one female adult serving alongside the youth.
  • Basic lodging is provided at the church near Shepherd Community Center.
  • Participants will sleep on the floor. Showering will be limited and primitive.
  • We need a minimum of eight participants. Adult and youth (high school (in fall 2026) and older) are invited to join.
  • There will be one half-day training prior to the trip in which we'll plan our aftercare activities.
  • Cost is $200.
