Founded in 1982, the Chinese School of Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis (CSCCCI) has decades of experience in promoting Chinese language and culture through the Chinese language classes held on Sunday afternoons. In addition to the lessons from the curriculums, CSCCCI provides learning experiences through various academic contests (composition, story-telling contests), festivals (Chinese New Year, Moon Festival), and fun activities (Summer Camp, Chinese Word Quiz). Valuable life lessons are provided to students during one-hour Bible classes throughout the year.
CSCCCI offers the following classes for the spring of 2024:
Pre-K and Kindergarten Class is suggested for students aged 4-6. In this class, the students learn Chinese through nursery rhymes, songs, and poems.
Elementary Beginning Classes (Levels I & II) are suggested for students aged 6-8. In this class, the students learn some basic Chinese characters and read Chinese with phonics (pinyin).
Elementary Advanced Class is suggested for students aged 8-10. In this class, the students build up their Chinese vocabulary by reading Chinese characters with less phonics (pinyin).
Pre-AP Class is suggested for middle school students. The class uses the book Integrated Chinese to focus on conversation, grammar, and writing.
AP Chinese Preparation Class (focusing on listening and reading) uses Harvest Intermediate Chinese and other resources to help students prepare for the AP Chinese Language and Culture Exam.
Adult Virtual Mandarin class is offered online for adults who are interested in learning Mandarin. It meets online once a week for 100 minutes. The class time will be determined according to the schedule of registered students.
