Obedience – Haggai 1 – Rev. Justin Young

Main Idea: Obedience is multidimensional.

Obedience …

  • … starts high (v. 12)
  • … goes deep (vv. 13-14)
  • … thrives wide (vv. 12, 14)

Growth Group Guide

  1. Do you find asking for help easy or difficult? Explain.
  2. Read Haggai 1:12-15. How would this account be different if there was no mention of the Lord in v. 12? How would the Christian life be different if there was no acknowledgement of the Lord?
  3. Why is it easier for children to express dependence than for adults?
  4. Obedience is not superficial, but stirs the very depth of our souls (v. 14). What are the marks of superficial “obedience” and true obedience?
  5. Why do we need other believers to help us obey? What would you lose if the church consisted only of you?
  6. How can your obedience be more multidimensional this week?
