Growth Group Guide

  1. If you could have any question about the future answered, what would you ask? Why? How would life change if you knew?
  2. Read Matthew 6:19-24. What is the astounding assertion that Jesus makes in v. 24? Do you believe this? Why or why not? Why and how do even Christians often desire to create wiggle room within this statement? Give an example of such a sentiment.
  3. Read Matthew 6:25-30. What are God's questions according to this text? How would you answer them? Where could you apply these questions in your own life to combat anxiety?
  4. Read Matthew 6:31-33. How does one's identity as a child of God thwart anxiety?
  5. Read Matthew 6:34. How often do you worry about tomorrow? Why is this pointless?
  6. How would you help a friend apply Matthew 6 to fight anxiety?
