Growth Group Guide

  1. Describe a time you felt utterly alone.
  2. Read Genesis 32:6-12. How does Jacob respond to the perceived threat of Esau? What do his actions and words reveal about him? What changes do we see in Jacob?
  3. Read Genesis 32:22-32. Who is this man? What is God doing in Jacob's life?
  4. Read Genesis 33:1-11. Are you surprised by the response of Esau? Why or why not?
  5. Jacob humbles himself before God and Esau as a result of weakness. How has God used weakness in your life to strengthen your relationships?
  6. How does Jacob's life illustrate what it means to become and be a Christian?
