Father, teach us not to sin with such abandon. We do it all so easily: Pretend, lie, envy, lust, criticize, brood, ignore, deny, consume, hoard, defame, distort, make excuses, and then expect an easy forgiveness for the asking. God, forgive us for our negligence of your holy character. Let us not misinterpret your patience with our sin as though it were permissiveness. Loving Father, astonish us with a wholesome, godly fear which will not drive us to despair, but cause us to number our days and give us hearts of wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen. (source)

Proverbs Summary

"The reader of Proverbs must seek to understand the various types of people the book describes. The most obvious characters in the book are the wise, the fool, and the simple. Proverbs urges its readers to be wise, which means embracing God’s covenant and living out the covenant in everyday situations (compare 2:2; 10:1). The fool is the person who constantly opposes God’s covenant (1:7b). The simple is the person who is not firmly committed, either to wisdom or to folly; he is easily misled (14:15).

The first nine chapters of Proverbs are “wisdom poems” that urge the reader to pursue wisdom. The main section of Proverbs—the concise, memorable statements of two or three lines—begins in 10:1. Proverbs often seem to be mere observations about life, but their deeper meanings will reveal themselves if the following questions are kept in mind: (1) What virtue does this proverb commend? (2) What vice does it disapprove of? (3) What value does it affirm?" (Source and more)

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. CCCI Missionary

Hi! We are Seann and Amy Gibson serving in Taiwan since 2000. We run a coffee shop/outreach center near one of the university campuses in Chiayi City where we meet with students for Bible studies, hold activities, and have a regular fellowship meeting where we eat, pray, praise, read the Bible and play together. We are burdened to see young people reached and reaching out to their working class families and communities. To that end, we are reaching, discipling, and equipping uni students and young people for Christ to be reaching, discipling, and equipping their fellow classmates, co-workers, families and communities, particularly those from working class and/or rural areas, the most unreached areas on the island.
