1. Describe a difficult decision in which you had to choose one path over another. Have you ever had a decision in which you could pursue two realities at the same time?
2. Skim Nehemiah 3 and then summarize what happens. What mood may have characterized this time?
3. Read Nehemiah 4. What are some of the difficulties they face here? How does Nehemiah respond?
4. Read Nehemiah 5:1-11. Which do you find more challenging: external difficulties with the world or internal drama in the church? Why? Again, how does Nehemiah respond?
5. Read Nehemiah 6:1-9. In v. 9, how does Nehemiah respond? How is this response similar to the earlier responses by Nehemiah?
6. How do faith and action go together in conversion? Following the Lord? Missions?
7. Do you tend to be more action-oriented or faith-focused? Plan or pray?
