What Ministry is All About

Last night six children from the Sunday School were baptized. For the 200 people that came to watch, this seemed like a 1-minute experience for each child. But I had the experience of introducing them to the basics of the Christian faith through a baptism class over the past few weeks. I've gotten to see them learn about communion, church service, Bible study, and several other topics. I got to see their excitement at making a public profession of their faith, and I look forward to seeing them grow as believers.

As I reflected on this later, I remembered that this is what ministry is all about: Making Disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). These six children now join the several others in our church who are following Christ, and I am excited to partner with them on the journey!
