Two Months Old

Posted by Ben Malan
Hello Parents and Coworkers, Our daughter Emily is now two months old! I've included a photo of her at the bottom of this e-mail. I hope that you got a chance to read last week's SS-120, especially the paragraphs about scheduling around priorities. If you did not, then please take a moment to do so. You can actually read it online! Just click here, scroll down to "scheduling around priorities" and click "read more". One parent who receives the SS-120 offered the following two suggestions for getting to church on time and in a good mood:
  1. On Saturday night, help your children set out their clothes for Sunday so that they are not scrambling at the last minute to find something to wear. Girls may especially enjoy wearing something they had already decided is a nice outfit.
  2. On Sunday morning, get up early enough so that everyone can have time for breakfast.
If you would like to share other suggestions for scheduling around the priorities of spiritual growth and family life, I can share them anonymously, and your suggestions may help other families. Feel free to send these kinds of ideas to be before Tuesday August 10.

Last Week (August 1)

Sunday Theme As we studied 1 Samuel 16:1-13 we learned that God chose to replace Saul. Although we cannot see God, He can see us and even knows what is in our hearts.

This Week (August 9)

Sunday Theme We'll be studying the story of David and Goliath based on 1 Samuel 17. Although this story may be familiar to many people, it might be helpful for your family to read it together and consider the role that God played in the great accomplishment of defeating Goliath. Children's Ministry Library New hours for the library!! The library will continue to be open almost every Sunday, including this Sunday, but only from 12:15-12:30. This means that on the Sundays when lunch is served, you'll want to visit the library before you eat. Looking Ahead
  • August 15: Faithweaver Curriculum Training from 2:30-4:30.
  • August 29: Children's Ministry Sunday
  • September 19: Mandatory parent lunch meeting. Parents, have you gotten a chance to read the book Raising a Modern-Day Joseph? If not, please make plans to read it by the end of August! You can borrow it from the CM Library for free or purchase it from me for $10.
Serving the Lord until we see Him face to face, Ben Malan IMG_0477.JPG Why is this called the "SS-120"? SS stands for Sunday School, and you should be able to read the entire e-mail in 120 seconds or less! View past issues of this newsletter by clicking here. See all major church events by visiting the church calendar online.
