Wrapping Up the Year

Hello Parents and Coworkers, We are approaching the end of the Sunday School ministry year. I want to make sure you understand the upcoming dates:

• May 15
Growing Kids Party for all 1st-6th Graders (RSVP required)
• May 16
Promotion Ceremony Rehearsal from 12:30-1:00 (lunch is provided that day)
• May 23
Promotion Ceremony from 2:00-3:30 (lunch is not provided that day). You will be able to buy a Hands-On Bible at the ceremony for $15 rather than the normal price of $20 (checks only, payable to CCCI).
• May 30
Children begin class in their new grades. For the purpose of clarifiction, the "Juniors" will renamed as the "Primaries" and the "Seniors will be renamed as the "Elementaries".

Last Week (May 9)

Sunday Theme Acts 16 tells the story of Lydia, the first convert in the city of Philippi. Imagine being the first Christian in your city! Mother's Day Several children passed out flowers to the moms in our church. Keep up the great job, moms!

This Week (May 16)

Sunday Theme Although evangelism is a good thing, Paul and Silas got put in prison for the huge change it made in a slave girl's life. Check out the full story in Acts 16:16-34! Promotion Ceremony Rehearsal For the onstage rehearsal after church, the children will mainly rehearse getting onstage, singing their songs, and getting off stage. After the children are done, they are free to leave. Therefore, parents with young children should wait for their children in the sanctuary. By the way, the rehearsals will go from youngest grades to oldest ones. Children's Ministry Library Who are the leaders in your family: the parents or the children? The book Be the Parent by Kendra Smiley gives parents practical tips on leading their family effectively rather than feeling like they have to do whatever their children want. Stop by this week and take a look at great books like this one. Keystone Update See the attachment for the most recent map of the Keystone construction.
