Hello Parents and Coworkers,
Many Mexican families are celebrating today (Cinco de Mayo) as a cultural holiday. I find it helpful to occasionally remember the unique aspects to different people groups. This helps me remember that we come from different backgrounds and have been shaped by different influences. Recognizing this is an important step in connecting with people from different cultures.
Last Week (May 2)
Sunday Theme King Herod put Peter in jail in order to please the Jews (Acts 12). But wait--Peter
was a Jew! Why would the Jews want one of their own people put in jail? Because of his boldness for Christ! Nobody likes to be unpopular, but Peter's example of boldness in testifying about Jesus is a great example for us to follow.
This Week (May 9)
Sunday Theme Sometimes we read about dozens or hundreds of people beginning to follow Jesus, but sometimes we read about stories of individual people. This week we will learn about the conversion of Lydia (Acts 16:11-15).
