Chinese School of Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis (CSCCCI) is the oldest Chinese school in Carmel, Indiana. The current enrollment is over one hundred and thirty students from about ninety families. Most students are Chinese Americans, and the parents are Chinese immigrants from Taiwan, Mainland China, and other Asian countries.
CSCCCI is a non-profit organization supported by Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis (CCCI). The school administrators are volunteers from church members, and teachers are from student parents. The members of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) are elected each year.
CSCCCI provides an environment for young children to learn Chinese. The classes meet every Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm. The program provides courses of learning Chinese with traditional and simplified Chinese characters suitable for kindergarten through eighth grade.
The major goals of CSCCCI's program are:
- To teach the children the Chinese language. To help them realize their own cultural heritage and to enable them to identify with the Chinese culture.
- Allow the children to learn about God and the Bible through the Chinese School.
- To teach the Chinese language and culture to people of different races in order to introduce the Chinese culture to them.
