Hello Parents and Coworkers,
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
Our church is trying to free up some space so that we use our space more efficiently. Therefore, we are giving away several items and selling others at a huge discount. You can view the sale items by clicking here and check out the free ones by visiting Room 101A at church (things like chairs, student desks, and decorations).
Last Week (July 18)
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
I often get asked the question, "How is the children's ministry going?" Although I can answer some questions about the church-based programs, my best response would be: "Well, you'll need to talk to the parents." Parents have the primary responsibility for raising their children spiritually, and the church really plays a supporting role. Therefore, if you are a parent, I would encourage you to consider the question: "How is the children's ministry going in your family?"
Last Week (July 11)
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
It was so great to see many of you at the MCCA retreat (Midwest Chinese Church Association) this past weekend. I was personally encouraged in my spiritual walk, and I hope that you were as well. It was also a great time to connect with you informally at meals and activities. I hope that you're all able to attend next year, which will be July 1-4 (Friday through Monday). Save the date!!
Last Week (July 4)
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
This week, many of us will celebrate the independence that we experience as a nation. It is important to think about freedom in a spiritual sense too. The apostle Paul talks about the idea of being controlled by either the Spirit of God or the sinful nature (see Romans 8:5-11). Although Christians should not be controlled by sin, that does not mean we can do whatever we want. It means that we have a new master: the Spirit of God.

Each week I try to tell you what lessons the children learned the previous week and what they will learn in the upcoming week. Since recently began the new ministry year for Sunday School, I want to give you the big picture preview of the lessons for the upcoming 12 months. I hope it is helpful for parents in reinforcing the lessons at home.

- July-August: 1 Samuel
- September: 2 Samuel
- October-November: 1 Kings (and a little 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles)
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
Last Sunday we ended the 2009-2010 Sunday School year, and this Sunday we will begin a new one. I pray that our children are continuing to grow spiritually as they grow physically. I am encouraged by the parents that I see who are intentional in developing their children's faith at home.
Last Week (May 23)
Sunday Theme The elementary children learned about living by God's Spirit (Romans 8), while the primary children learned about the fruit of the Spirit, specifically love (Gal. 5:22-23)
Hello Parents and Coworkers,
Since we celebrated Father's Day last Sunday, I'd like to share a thought that I heard from Dennis Rainey of Family Life. The title is: "Wasting Time With Your Kids":
The statesman Charles Francis Adams underestimated the importance of a fishing trip he took with his son. Historians have found an entry in his diary that read. "Went fishing with my son today - a day wasted."
